I grew up in Warsaw, Poland. From an early age, I started painting and sculpting simple plasticine characters, enjoying enormously the miniature details. I fondly remember this period of innocence with no barriers and strict rules, when creativity could flow undisturbed. I graduated from the High School of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2005. After the longer-than-wanted break through my twenties, I started to paint again, rediscovering the joy of creativity with more developed maturity.

I work in oil using a variety of traditional supports from linen to wooden panels. I occasionally create smaller sketch works on paper or canvas boards but my preferred size of choice is rather large. I'm a detail-obsessed painter who loves to combine old masters techniques with modern visual aesthetic. However, it is familiar to me to experience a creative impulse and try other techniques which bring similar joy as in my early childhood.

A huge inspiration for my oil paintings is the lighting. It never stops to amaze me how light plays across the land and sky, or the way mid-shadows make the still life objects suddenly ‘pop’. This three-dimensionality is something that I am striving to recreate in my paintings. I would love the viewer to experience through my eyes simple objects once again and see them as they would for the first time. I want to create a feeling of almost touching an object or a person, or sensation of being present in the scenery. To achieve that greatest attention to colour is required. Everything that we see has a certain depth and tangibility and this is what I would love my paintings to emanate. Additionally, to aesthetic qualities, I am aiming to provoke contemplation and questioning of our habits, addictions and everyday choices. I strongly believe we can influence the younger generation to achieve the greatness that humankind is capable of through devaluation of today's attachments, rediscovering the natural state of freedom and appreciation of beauty.
